October is the month of the Most Holy Rosary. We want to know what special devotions, prayers, and traditions you celebrate in order to honor Our Lady.
October is the month of the Holy Rosary. How will you and your family be honoring Mary and the Rosary in your personal lives and in your families? What prayers, devotions, and other traditions would you like to share with the Scapular Apostolate community?
What is the promise that Our Lady made regarding the Brown Scapular? What does it mean for a Catholic today who wears the Brown Scapular and how can we be assured of salvation?
This week, two members of the Scapular Apostolate (Mary and Katie) traveled to Tyburn Academy in upstate New York to give a presentation about the Brown Scapular.
The promise attached to the Brown Scapular comes from an apparition of Our Lady to St. Simon Stock. St. Simon was an English hermit who became the head of the Carmelite order in 1247. The Virgin Mary promised to St. Simon that all who wear the Brown Scapular will not suffer the fires of hell.
